I love going to this Mexican resraurant. Ive been a customer for a couple of years and I've always left with a smile on my face. They greet you as you walk in.The waiter's are always so attentive and happy. My food arrives nicely arranged and hot. They go every so often to ask if I need anything. Me and my husband love this place. I always love their coctel de camarones. My husband adores their pork pozole. Went on Tuesday going again today that's how much we love the food here and the customer service they are all so attentive and polite and joyful which is key to run a business joyful employees who love what they do and manifest thru their work. Can't wait to go again today.

Food is great definitely worth the drive. I will be coming back soon. I like the music in the background is not loud but you can hear it just perfect to enjoy lunch and still be able to talk with your soulmate. Lol

Their torta mixta is delicious with all the sauces. Service is always great. The tortas will be messy but if you like meat and PAN and sauces, well, I don't thin you'll regret it. I went to this place to have some lunch with my mom. Our waitress was super attentive and very nice. Our glass cokes were very cold and delicious! Mom got barbacoa plate (super well served and amazing flavor) comes with handmade tortillas which is a plus ! I got the burrito ahogado which wasn't as spicy as I would've liked but still great! I will definitely be going back

I have been to TORTAS AHOGADAS GUADALAJARA many times to eat and the food is always delicious, warm and very tasty. Their micheladas are the best. On Sunday we had our Mothers day catered by them and everything was so good. We ordered Barbacoa, rice and beans. It came with chips, cilantro and onions. Meat was very tender and juicy. Everything arrived warm and very nicely packaged. Easy to assemble to be ready to eat. I recommend you use them for your next party so worth it.

We bought our food from T.A.G.I.L.A for our Mothers Day event on Sunday. We had the barbacoa with arroz and frijoles and all the trimmings. My husband went to go pick it up and it was well packaged. Food was nice and hot. The food was a hit! Everyone loved it! The barbacoa meat was so tender and juicy. So good with the chips. So if you don't want to cook and your having a family gathering I recommend this place. The food is delicious!

We went for lunch and we tried the torta ahogada and the torta de camarones. I was definitely impressed by the authentic taste and it definitely brought back some good memories of Guadalajara. I've been following them since they had the little hot dog stand on Florence and Avalon. I was about 13 and I had came from a family trip to my parent's home town in Jalisco. I tried the tortas ahogadas over there and fell in love since I've always been a big fan of hot/spicy food. When we came back... my dad made it his mission to find me something similar to what I had tried out there. From asking around and lots of recommendations, we bumped into this little spot. Needless to say, I became a loyal customer since then and have made so many of my family and friend loyal customers too. I followed them EVERYWHERE they went! These are the best tortas ahogadas I have ever tasted, apart from homemade ones of course. I haven't tried anything else on the menu. I love the bread, I believe it's sourdough, and the meat is delicious, they give a good hefty portion of it. Beware the the red hot sauce, believe me use it by the teaspoon and sparingly, it is extremely spicy!! Their specialty are the tortas, which to me always means everything else on the menu will be mediocre, just like antithetical specialty restaurant. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because I recently noticed it had a "B", I don't know if it had it all along, but I really don't feel comfortable with that. So I won't be returning until it has an "A", which sucks because their tortas are bomb!

We love the tortas ahogadas here!!! So delicious! However we just came here on Thursday around 11:30am and the service was horrible!! The place is so busy and they seemed completely understaffed. There was a large group of people waiting by the door and waitresses do walk by without acknowledging people. The phone was ringing off the hook and at one point I witnessed one of the cooks come out and ask if she could help out with answering the phones. This is not the first time I've seen the place this way. I had called in a phone order waited 20 mins then went in and I still waited another 30 min for my food. The tortas are delish but lately seems like they've gotten smaller. If I were the owner of this buisness I would seriously consider opening a take out only location. Youre tortas are the best! But please make room for people to wait at youre current location. You shoulda kept the other location you guys had in addition to opening this one!!!!

I am in love with tortas Ahogadas Guadalajara!! I started by trying the original torta Ahogada that consists of a toasted bread with yummy refried beans that are spreaded within the buns, carnitas and 2 tomato sauces. One non spicy and the other extremely spicy. Then it's up to you how much you want to drown "ahogar" your sandwich "torta"( oh yeah and red onions for topping)
Second time around I requested the meat to be "de asada" since I repeat, I am a picky eater and I was in heaven. When I was brought into loving the Tortas I remember the business being in a lunch truck and later moved to this location. The place is horrendous if I must be honest which is why I give them four stars but I heard a rumor of them relocating in the near future. I was introduced to Tortas ahogadas Guadalajara by my boyfriend he's been coming here for years and is always raving about it. So I finally decided to check it out. Im not much of a carnitas fan so I asked our waitress if they could make me a torta de pollo instead, even though they don't have that on the menu... she looked at me funny at first and said sure we can make it for you. . And let me tell you it was delicious! ! The spiciness and the bread consistency was perfect. . . They should really add that to their menu... I will definitely be coming back here again. . .

I came here today for a weekday lunch. I was a little scared because I didn't see any English on the outside but once inside, there were no language barrier issue at all. If I were to ever move away from LA, I would miss great Mexican food like this. It came with albondigas soup which was also the best I've ever had (although admittedly, I haven't had a whole lot of albondigas). Plus, homemade tortillas! Yum! I couldn't finish it, so I took the rest home, but the leftovers were so good regretted not leaving myself a little more for the second round! I went ahead and and tried the Torta Ahogada de Carnitas. I saw Carmen G's warning in the tips and broke off the spicy. First off, I applaud the care and concern that the wait staff had for a non-Spanish speaking lighter skinned media-Mex like me. When I ordered the spicy she did the "are you sure, it's really spicy" thing, but I assured her that was fine.

My training had only scarcely prepared me for what came out of the kitchen. It was a wet torta with filled with carnitas and a refried bean "spread" on the roll. The whole thing was swimming in a deep, rich, red sauce. I took my first bite and immediately felt the heat. The carnitas were tender, but I can't speak to the seasoning as the sauce essentially took the flavor front-and-center. The refried beans (I had a side as well) were tasty and retained some of the whole beans for a nice texture element.

A second nice waitress asked if I was okay because she saw me sweating with tears rolling down my cheeks. Did I mention that spicy actually means spicy here?

At the end of the day, my only gripe is that the bread had a little too much crunch to it. Knowing how easy it is to get amazing bolillos in this area, there's really no reason to have crunchy bread.

My sister order the breakfast Mexicana ??, it had a carne asada, chorizo, bean, rice, grilled onions and hand made tortillas. Lets not forget the Micheladas those were on point. We were truly satisfied with the overall experience. We will definitely, be going back and making this our spot. Cant wait to take my parents to have the same experience we did. Arriba Guadalajara!!!!

The food was delicious, just the wait time too long, 30 mins to be called and than 30 mins waiting for our food, they should improve on that! :)

This place is great for a good original Torta ahogada flavor.

The only thing they need to improve is SERVICE.

I am going to start with the positive things about this place;
-Authentic recipes and flavor
-They are honest about the spicy sauce since the beginning in case you want it on the side
-the deco is okay not the best in town but the food makes that up
-descent drinks
-parking so easy to find
-tacos have really good portion of meat

I would have loved giving this place a 5 star review because I love the fact that they had original birote salado which no other place does, but the service killed my vibe.
-too slow or too busy? Who knows, that is not the customers' issue
-attentive employees but way too serious almost bored they looked
-our food took forever but it was worth it

I will definitely come back simply because my boyfriend and I loved the food but hopefully they will have better service next time and smile a little bit more!

Ok I have to say that I am loyal to this place! I am addicted to their food. ALL THEIR FOOD. I have not left this place disappointed... EVER!! I see reviews where people are disappointed for the wait time...Yes you have to wait for your food what do you expect this is not a fast food restaurant!!! You will get a quality meal so the wait is worth it! Their service is excellent. The waitresses are so sweet and helpful. What more can you ask a restaurant that makes you feel at home.

I highly recommend this please... You will not leave disappointed.

First time here, good experience. Had taco de barcacoa and taco de requeson. Red salsa super hot! Will come back for pozole.

One of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten! The hot sauce will blow your head off!!! The pork is delectable. The sourdough roll they use is great and always fresh. I get mine soaked in the tomato sauce with the hot sauce on the side. Once I made the mistake of having the whole thing soaked in hot sauce and my face felt like it melted! The onions are perfect. The fresh homemade guacamole is really good. Hardshell potato tacos are good too. I highly recommend this place.

I was looking for a place to dine in with a friend for happy hour and I found torts ahogadas on Yelp. This place is great, the service is great and the food is sooooooooo delicious!! I ordered a wet burrito and shared tacos dorados with my friend. The wet burrito was so good! The tacos dorados are worth the trip and are a must try! I had a bite of a torts ahogada de carnitas and it was good. All and all, this place gets 5 stars!

I went here with my husband, 3 and 5 year old kids and all loved it. The torta augada was the bomb, authentic down to the special birote, a bit spicy but soooo yummy. My husband had menudo and thought it was real good my kids love the rice and beans. The place itself makes u feel like if ur in Guadalajara because of the beautiful decor. I will definitely come again and recommended to anyone in town.

I really love this place. Ive visit this location several times and i haven't been dissapointed yet. They have always been really friendly and check up on you! I don't expect much for the service i go to enjoy my food not to be treated like royalty. Its worh the 40 minute drive. I recommend the carne en su jugo! Besg place !

Droooool! I love their tortas mixtas with the super spicy sauce. They have different levels of spice so that's great since no one ever has spicy enough for me!

My boss just asked me "What's the best Mexican restaurant around?" I said, "Tortas Ahogadas Guadalajara in LA, of course!" I've often brought friends and family here for lunch and dinner and everyone has always agreed that's it's the best. I LOVE their tacos de barbacoa and of course their Tortas! Also, they have the best chilaquiles!!

They recently donated some horchata for an event my student group had at USC and everyone raved about it. They said it was the best horchata they've ever had!

The owners and staff are the sweetest and make you feel like you're familia! I love the drink specials of course. Their prices are affordable, which helps when you want amazing food and are also a starving student.

There Torta Ahogadas are the bomb just like the ones in Guadalajara. Chips and salsa to begin were great. Paired with a Mexican Coke bottle...it's a freakin meal. Restroom on site and plenty of parking. Waitress service. Don't need to go all the way to Guadalajara for a Torta Ahogadas they brought to you.

I am originally from Guadalajara. And I was craving for some tortas ahogadas . My boyfriend and I did an hour an a half drive from riverside ! It was totally worth the drive . The tortas they make are the closes ones to the ones from Guadalajara . I order a Tejuino to drink and a Jericalla for dessert & they were also very delicious and authentic . They also had great service .
Will I be coming back again ? Yes!!
Do I recommend it ? Yes .

This restaurant is a gem. The food is not only great but authentic too. Ive had the Tortas Ahogadas and having roots in Guadalajara, they bring back memories. I've also had the tacos de Barbacoa and they're delicious. Oh and they have great prices too! Must try.

I travel over 30 miles daily to come and eat their specialty, tortas ahogadas. They are original and the salsa is fantastic! I have ordered other good food like the menudo, burritos and tacos. But I always seem to enjoy the tortas more. They do tend to get busy on the weekends so do be patient. I don't blame them for being so busy. Just means they're great!

Very good tortas ahogadas! I love the fact that you get the sauces on the side in case you want to make it more spicy or just more juicy! Their micheladas are also amazing! Love this place.

This is a good place to stop by if you are In the area. I love the tortas ahogadas y shrimp. My kids love the horchata. Sometimes It is extremely packed but it's worth the wait.

First time coming here and very great service, my family enjoyed their dinner and I was very impressed with there torta hogada with 3rd level spice sauce..damn I was feeling it...lol!!!

This place is so great and delicious! They are famous for their tortas and they are amazing but I love the carne en su jugo. Also, the tacos dorados de papa con carne y buche are really good!!! You can literally choose anything on the menu and it has the really authentic Mexican sabor. Watch out for the hot sauce cause that thing is no joke.

If you go on the weekend there is a little bit more of a wait but it's definitely worth it. If there's a line out the door you know the food is going to be good!

The prices are pretty good considering all the food you get. They're not stingy with the portions. Come with a big appetite and lots of friends!!!

Tortas Ahogadas in LA is the best place to find and enjoy an authentic torta estilo Guadalajara. Trust me when I say this, I visited Guadalajara last year and both tortas taste about the same. I've checked in at this place several times on Facebook while sharing some of the pictures of my food and many friends of mine have gone after that and they all LOVE this restaurant. The prices are very affordable and let's not forget the great service that you'll receive. This place is family owned so they treat every customer as part of the familia. Obviously this place is always packed because they have their faithful customers as well as new ones all the time.

Also, they have amazing happy hour specials that will beat some of the prices from other nearby restaurants. This place is a must-go if you want to have an authentic Mexican dish, whether if it's a torta ahogada or some tacos de barbacoa or their incredibly delicious chilaquiles, that's why I rate this place the BIG 5 stars!!

The food here is delicious I love it I usually come here before work the only bit of a bad thing is the waiting time I usually eat like two plates of chips with salsa lol for the wait its so tastey!! Feel like taking it home sometimes lol

Delicious food and great service. I've had the tortas ahogadas, tacos de barbacoa, tacos de canasta, carne en su jugo, etc. Any plate I order is always delicious. Their micheladas are the best I've had, which is surprising, as I wasn't even aware they offered them. I will keep coming back for sure. And did you know that they cater? I can't wait to book them for my next party at home.

Solid torta ahogada restaurant, bread is hard & salty the way its supposed to be, filled with good chunks of your choice of meat and topped with lemon pickled onion slices and a tomato base with chile to your liking. I do like that they give you extra warm sauce to pour over your torta ahogada as you like. Also they have a variety of tacos dorados with different fillings such as cheese, potato, beans, they take a bit to come out because they are freshly made also topped with cabbage super delish. Service was friendly, they do accept cc, plenty of seating, we showed up on a saturday around 11am and it wasn't crowded, we got a table right away, they have tons of other menu items

Sooooo good. Everything was so well made and authentic. Chips were crunchy and salted just right. The horchata was creamy, no grainy stuff. And torta was bomb.

I like the food and the service. Tried the tacos de barbacoa they were pretty good. Tortas were good. The sauce was spicy just how i like it. I went there in a Sunday around 11 am. They were out of menudo and posole. But i will sure eatvhere again.
